Managing Director
Born in Italy in 1960, Massimo studied mechanical engineering at the Technikum in Winterthur, Switzerland, before embarking on a 15-year career in the high fashion industry. In 2000, he settled permanently in New Zealand with his Kiwi wife, Jo, where his professional focus began to evolve.
Driven by a passion for design, performance, and the quality of indoor environments, Massimo returned to his engineering roots. In 2010, he founded Solutionair—an innovative company dedicated to delivering energy-efficient ventilation, heating, and cooling systems to the New Zealand building industry. His vision is guided by a simple yet powerful principle: creating healthier, more comfortable living spaces for everyone.

General Manger
Nikolai joined Solutionair in 2020, working before in the aviation industry in Germany and New Zealand. He holds a degree in Product Engineering (Dipl.-Ing.) from Germany but built much of his career in account and contract management, most recently at Air New Zealand. Living now since 2013 in Pukekohe with his Argentine wife and two young Kiwi children, Nikolai combines technical expertise with commercial insight. At Solutionair, he has played a key role in strengthening the company’s position as a provider of high-performance HVAC solutions and delivering a new level of service for New Zealanders seeking healthier indoor climates.

Building Performance Engineer
Donat began his journey in 2008, studying Environmental Engineering in Hamburg. While completing his BSc and MSc, he worked in engineering firms and became a certified Energy Efficiency Expert for Buildings in Germany. Driven by a passion for sustainable design, he went on to establish his own engineering office, specialising in thermal optimisation and HVAC design for both new builds and retrofits.
In 2024, Donat moved to New Zealand with his family, joining Solutionair the following year. Today, his expertise in heating and cooling load calculations plays a key role in helping the team deliver climate control solutions that are energy-efficient, reliable, and built to last.
